Water Leak From Upstairs

Hi, I had some water leak from upstairs in the kitchen when I changed the faucet. Later on I noticed the paint bubbling on the wall in the basement, and that’s when I realized the damaged from the water.

The carpet seemed damp and the room had a musty smell. I put down some towels to soak up whatever water soaked into the carpet. It didn’t seem like much but I still put down the towels and I also put a fan in there.

It has been about 5 days but it still does not seem dry. The towels are pretty damp, but now there are other parts of the carpet that still seem damp.

Do I need to pull up the carpet? Any help on what I should do would be appreciated.
